It has been dedicated to helping members develop effective packaging, methods, logistics systems, etc
ISTA(International Safe Transit Association) is an International non-profit organization formerly known as NSTA (national Association for Safe Transit). It now has hundreds of prominent freight companies and laboratories worldwide. It has been committed to assist members to develop effective packaging, methods, logistics systems, etc., in order to improve the safety of product transport packaging performance, so as to prevent or reduce the product in the process of transportation and handling losses encountered. The organization has issued a series of standards as well as test procedures and test items as a uniform basis for assessing the safety of shipping packaging.
The ISTA Test protocol, known as ISTA® Test Series, consists of the following:
ISTA 1 series: non-simulation Integrity Performance Tests.Test the strength and robustness of the product and package combination.
Procedure 1A: package the product with a weight of 150 LBS (68 kg) or less
Requirements: fixed frequency vibration, impact (drop/bevel impact/horizontal impact) detection
Program 1B: packaged products weigh more than 150 LBS. (68 kg)
Requirements: fixed frequency vibration, impact (drop/bevel impact/horizontal impact) detection
Procedure 1C: extension test for individual packaged products weighing 150 LBS (68 kg) or less
Requirements: pressure, vibration (fixed frequency vibration/random vibration), impact (drop/bevel impact/horizontal impact) detection
Procedure 1D: extension test for individual packaging products weighing more than 150 LBS (68 kg)
Requirements: pressure, vibration (fixed frequency vibration/random vibration), impact (drop/bevel impact/horizontal impact) test, rotary edge drop
Program 1E: group load
Requirements: vibration (fixed frequency vibration/random vibration), impact (inclined plane impact/horizontal impact), rotary edge drop
Procedure 1G: package product weight 150 LBS (68 kg) or less (swing at will)
Requirements: random vibration, impact (drop/bevel impact/horizontal impact)
Procedure 1H: package products weighing more than 150 LBS (68 kg) (swing at will)
Requirements: random vibration, impact (drop/bevel impact/horizontal impact), rotary edge drop
ISTA 2 series: Partial Simulation Performance Tests.
Procedure 2A: package the product at 150 LBS (68 kg) or less
